The AvD Oldtimer Grand Prix is the festival of historic motorsport in Germany. Hundreds of historic racing cars compete in numerous starting fields at the Nürburgring. Pre-war sports cars can be seen as well as formula cars from practically all epochs, including the FIA Championship for Historic Formula 1 cars.
A great emphasis is also placed on sports cars and GTs - here the range even extends to the present day, because recently the Masters Endurance Legends (cars from the Endurance World Championship and Le Mans up to 2006) are on board, and the Porsche Carrera Cup builds a bridge to current motorsport.
There is practically always something to see on the track: More than two dozen races and regularity tests are on the agenda. Nevertheless, the way to the paddock is worthwhile for all visitors. Because there is attraction after attraction. Exhibitions, autograph and interview sessions and many other highlights await discovery. Numerous prominent guests such as former World Sports Car Champion Derek Bell, Formula 1 expert Christian Danner or former DTM drivers such as Volker Strycek and Prince Leopold of Bavaria can be met there.
The route is also worthwhile because entry to the paddock is already included in every ticket. Whether you have come for an autograph hunt, a photo safari or simply to enjoy the most beautiful racing cars from all decades - visitors young and old will find what they are looking for. Especially the young visitors are very welcome anyway. Admission is free for children and young people up to 17 years accompanied by an adult.
