Track Day with huge response

The Track Day held in conjunction with Day One of the AvD Oldtimer Grand Prix has by now become a tradition. On this fourth occasion, 174 vehicles – including the participants in the AvD-Histo-Tour – were assembled on the race track: an impressive response that delighted the organisers. The Nordschleife presented itself in typical fashion on that day: “The conditions were very changeable, alternating between brilliant sunshine and rain,” says Jörg Bratke, whose company, Bratke Exclusive Cars – Motorsport, was responsible for organising the event. “That in spite of these conditions we only had one case of minimal damage shows that our concept panned out well again.” Participation in the 2019 Track Day was again by invitation and the participants unanimously praised everyone’s good and considerate conduct on the track. Spectators around the Nordschleife saw many fascinating vehicles. The highlights included an Isdera, as well as rare historic cars such as an Alfa Romeo TZ2 and an Alfa Romeo Monza. The newer models included a Mercedes-AMG GTR, Porsche 992 Turbo and several 911 GT3 RS. However, cars such as a tuned VW Beetle, Alfa Romeo GT-Am and many others turned out for the event as well. “It’s the mix that matters,” says Bratke. “We’re deliberately not just another Track Day for racing cars but attach great value to this mix of old and new cars.”
